Chiropractic is a profession which focuses on the integrity of the nervous system. Chiropractors examine and diagnose conditions related to mechanical dysfunction of the joints, which can lead to nerves being stretched, irritated and put under pressure.
A chiropractor will look at the whole body not just the specific site of pain or irritation, carrying out a full patient history, standard orthopaedic and neurological tests, specific chiropractic tests, postural evaluation, evaluation of individual joints and related soft-tissues and a functional assessment to ascertain specific areas of weakness.
Chiropractors are also educated in how to take and read X-rays, and if X-rays are needed they can be ordered if clinically necessary. All of our chiropractors are also qualified in dry needling (acupuncture), and this may also be used as part of the treatment.
